David Scott
Clarinet
Clarinetist David Scott is a performer, teaching artist, and arts innovator. Passionate about chamber music and orchestral performance, he has appeared across Canada, Europe, North Africa, and the United States with ensembles including the Panama City Symphony (USA), Atlantic Sinfonia, Symphony New Brunswick, Tutta Musica Orchestra, l’Orchestre de la francophonie, and Orchestra London Canada. In 2024, David represented both Canada and the state of Florida in a special performance with the American Pops Orchestra at the 75th NATO Summit for an audience of international leaders. A dedicated educator, David has taught at Florida State University and served as Senior Teaching Artist at Sistema New Brunswick’s Moncton Centre, working with individual students, chamber ensembles, and youth orchestras. He has been recognized internationally as an outstanding teacher. David is founder and Artistic Director of ClassikFest Chaleur, presenting concerts with international musicians in New Brunswick’s Chaleur region. His recent project, Stella Connect, is a 10-member orchestra bringing symphonic music to intimate venues and diverse audiences. He holds an Artist Diploma from McGill University, a Master of Music from Florida State University, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario, as well as an Executive Graduate Certificate from the Global Leaders Program. David is an F. Arthur Uebel Emerging Artist and performs on Zenit Mopane Wood clarinets with 24k gold plating.

Matthieu Deveau
Violin
A laureate of the 2021 Music International Grand Prix Competition, Fredericton-born violinist Matthieu Deveau has captivated audiences since his first concert at the age of 6. His playing has been described as ‘vivid, intense and rich in sonority’ (HunJu Sohnn, pianist, Verbier Festival). Matthieu plays regularly with the FILMharmonique, the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Symphonique de Gatineau, the Orchestre Symphonique de la Côte-Nord and Thirteen Strings Chamber Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, Matthieu has performed on prestigious stages in Italy, China, South Korea and Canada. An avid chamber musician, Matthieu has been invited to perform at various music festivals, including Music and Beyond, the Festival Intime de Musique Classique, the Barachois Summer Music, and the Festival Classica. Matthieu holds four music degrees. These include a Performance Associateship Diploma (ARCT) from Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music, a Bachelor of Music and Orchestral Studies diploma from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Montreal. His teachers include Aida Tisler, Paul Campbell, David Stewart, Yehonatan Berick, Jonathan Crow, Annick Roussin, Mary-Elizabeth Brown, Olivier Thouin, Hélène Collerette and Robert Uchida. A sought-after pedagogue, he teaches at the École de Musique Vincent d’Indy and is a regular guest teacher at Camp Musical Père Lindsay.



Nora Simard Saint-Cyr
Flute
Nora Simard-Saint-Cyr completed her Doctor of Music (DMus) in Early Music at McGill University in the spring of 2023, where she studied with Mika Putterman. Her thesis explored the role of articulation as an expressive tool in early music performance on the modern flute. This was not her first foray into research; as she earned, in 2019, a Master of Arts in Musicology from the Université de Montréal, where she compared the performance practices of Baroque and modern flutists interpreting 18th-century music. Nora's research journey took her to Paris, where she presented a paper at the Rethinking Music in France during the Baroque Era symposium, organized by Université Sorbonne, CNRS, and the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles. As a natural extension of her research, Nora began studying the Baroque flute in 2019. She went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Early Music Performance at McGill in 2020, where she studied under Lena Weman. In addition, she earned a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from McGill in 2015, studying with Timothy Hutchins. Nora has participated in numerous masterclasses on both modern and period instruments, performing for world-renowned flutists such as Emmanuel Pahud, Mathieu Dufour, Denis Bouriakov, Jeanne Baxtresser, Philippe Bernold, Julien Beaudiment, Claire Guimond, Alexis Kossenko, and Jan De Winne.

Piano
Dan Luong
Dan Luong is a Vietnamese-Canadian pianist based in London, Ontario, whose work spans the concert stage, recording studio, and teaching studio. His performances and programming have been described as intelligent, sensitive, and engaging, earning him international acclaim. Notable honors include a Special Prize at the Piano Island Competition in Bangkok, Thailand, Second Prize at the University of Florida International Piano Festival, and Third Prize at the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition, Canada’s premier platform for contemporary performance.
A frequent orchestral pianist, Dan has appeared with many of Ontario’s leading ensembles, including the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, London Symphonia, and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony. A passionate advocate for new music, he collaborates with living composers to commission and premiere works that incorporate extended techniques, electronics, and synthesizers—bridging classical tradition with contemporary innovation. Dan serves as Music Director at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he leads a vibrant choral and liturgical music program. As a dedicated pedagogue, he maintains a thriving private studio of 40 students, many of whom are scholarship winners at local and provincial festivals. His teaching has been recognized by the Royal Conservatory of Music with Gold Medals in both Elementary and Intermediate Pedagogy. He is also a frequent adjudicator at festivals including the Toronto Kiwanis and Hamilton Music Festivals. He holds a Master’s degree in Collaborative Piano Performance from Western University and currently serves on the boards of the Ontario Music Festivals Association and the Kiwanis Music Festival of London, where he champions music education and advocates for emerging artists.


Conor Britt
Cello
Conor Britt is a cellist based in Fredericton and a graduate of McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, where he studied under Brian Manker of the New Orford String Quartet and Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Originally from Saint John, he has earned numerous top prizes at local and provincial festivals, and was a third-place winner at the National Music Festival. Conor has performed at chamber music festivals including Tuckamore, Domaine Forget, and Classikfest Chaleur, and has appeared with ensembles such as Symphony New Brunswick, McGill Symphony Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. He is currently a teaching artist with Sistema NB and a member of Tutta Musica.
Carmen Armao
Cello
Born in Venezuela, Carmen Armao began her musical journey at the age of four at El Sistema Venezuela, studying under the guidance of renowned instructors Juan José Romero and Francy Vásquez. She graduated from the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music and the National University of Arts.At 12 years old, Carmen became principal cellist of the Caracas Symphony Youth Orchestra, led by Gustavo Dudamel. She then joined the cello section of the Teresa Carreño Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela from 2009 to 2018. and was a regular guest cellist with several other Venezuelan orchestras, including the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. Throughout her career, Carmen has performed in many prestigious concert halls around the world, including the Berliner Philharmoniker, Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Konzerthaus, Concertgebouw, and the Royal Festival Hall.Carmen has performed alongside world-class soloists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Lang Lang, Placido Domingo, and Alisa Weilerstein. She has participated in numerous international tours across Europe, Asia, and America, while also dedicating time to teaching at various El Sistema centers in Venezuela, mentoring the next generation of musicians.In 2018, Carmen moved to New Brunswick, Canada, where she continues to perform, exploring different settings and styles and working with the Sistema NB as a String Teaching Artist and Orchestra Manager.


Violette Boucher
Violin
Violette, in her youth, developed her passion for music in choirs. As a teenager, she studied the violin and pursued university training as a classical violinist, earning a bachelor's degree in music education.After teaching music for over thirty years in French-language schools in the Chaleur region, Violette pursued her musical projects by participating in various musical groups in the Acadian Peninsula with violinist Théo Brideau for a few years. She then joined the Haut-Saint-Jean Philharmonic Orchestra (her hometown) for a few years under the direction of Daniel Finzi.Since last year, she has devoted her time to the musical duo she forms with her partner, pianist and accordionist Michel Ouellette.
